Magic Keyboard alternative from Logitech for iPad Pro M4
Accessories specialist Logitech is competing with Apple's standard keyboards. The Combo Touch has its own form factor and is available for all new tablets.

It doesn't have to be Apple's original Magic Keyboard: Peripherals provider Logitech has unveiled four new keyboard folios for Apple's latest tablets. The devices are called Combo Touch and are designed for iPad Air M2 in 11 and 13 inches as well as for iPad Pro M4 with 11 and 13 inches. The design is reminiscent of Apple's Smart Keyboard Folio for the iPad 10: an iPad case with a kickstand meets a keyboard that also serves as a screen protector.
Four different usage options
The keyboard can be removed if required, for example to read or watch videos. The kickstand allows a total of four different modes of use, including one for drawing with a stylus. Bluetooth is not necessary as Logitech has certification for Apple's Smart Connector, as with previous models, which ensures both the connection to the iPad and the power supply to the keyboard.
Like Apple's new Magic Keyboard, the Combo Touch comes with function keys for media playback and volume, among other things. A trackpad is integrated in the lower section of the keyboard. The keys have automatic backlighting, which can be adjusted in 16 levels.
High prices, but cheaper than Apple
Logitech charges 229 or 259 euros for the Combo Touch on the iPad Air M2 (11 / 13 inch). The iPad Pro M4 costs 259 and 299 euros respectively (also 11 / 13 inches). That's not cheap, but it's still cheaper than Apple's Magic Keyboard, which costs EUR 349 and EUR 399 respectively, although only the version for the iPad Pro M4 has been overhauled with an additional row of keys. The Combo Touch for the iPad Air M2 weighs 495 and 685.9 grams respectively, while the iPad Air M4 weighs 474 and 660 grams.
The adjustable viewing angle via the kickstand is 10 to 60 degrees. The iPad Pro version is available in several colors (graphite, Oxford grey, sand), while the Air version is only available in one (graphite). According to Logitech, the German version will be delivered "soon". The company has also been offering its own stylus for some time now, which can be purchased for 89 euros.
